Armikrog is a game animated using stop-motion by Pencil Test Studios and Doug TenNapel, known for creating Earthworm Jim. The game’s Kickstarter goal of $900,000 has recently been achieved, as well as its Wii U stretch goal!

The game was originally planned for just the PC and Mac platforms, however with the help of a little bit of extra funding from the fans, the game will be finding its way to the Wii U eShop! You can check out the game’s Kickstarter page to see a few sketches detailing how the GamePad might be used for different gameplay ideas. The ideas range from the often-used inventory screen and the first person POV achieved by holding the GamePad up to the screen, as well as a new puzzle mechanic involving drawing specific shapes and lines on the GamePad.

Are you excited that Armikrog is heading to the Wii U eShop? I certainly am! Express your opinions of Pencil Test Studios’ recent accomplishment in the comments below!

I pitched in for this one, and constantly checked during the last days to see if it would make it. I’m really happy it got funded and reached its one and only stretch goal, a Wii U version. That’s where I’ll be playing it!

I’ve always been a sucker for unique, off-beat art styles. Earthworm Jim, Neverhood, Rayman… If it looks goofy and is fun to play, I’m there. :^)
