3. Haunter
Another Gen 1 Pokémon to add to the list, Haunter’s appeal as something of a horror creature comes more from media outside the games. While the Haunter predominantly seen in the anime is a bit more playful, Toshihiro Ono’s Pokémon comic The Electric Tale of Pikachu introduced a far more terrifying version. Also known as The Black Fog, Ono’s take made Haunter truly scary, in a way we haven’t seen since.
