7. Gourgeist
Speaking of imagery and tradition, Jack O’Lanterns have long been associated with Halloween, so it wouldn’t be right to leave one off this list. Halloween has only recently become a celebrated event in Japan, making Gourgeist and Pumpkaboo’s addition to the Pokémon roster a bit of western influence. While Gourgeist doesn’t quite match the scariness of some of the other Pokémon on this list, it’s still a visual that makes it a must.
