According to Game Informer’s December digital issue, Lost Planet 3 is coming to Wii U. Exclamation mark! The platform was listed along with Xbox 360 and PS3 in a preview for the upcoming title. (If you’ve never played any of the Lost Planet games before, just imagine the Planet of Hoth scene from Star Wars but with giant bugs and you probably have a pretty good idea!)
If the Lost Planet series is indeed coming to Wii U, I will take my hat off to Capcom and Nintendo. Their partnership runs deep and they have created some of the very best in gaming. I don’t have to remind you of the awesomeness of games like Mega Man, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. Not to mention, Capcom and Nintendo also collaborated to create The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap and other handheld Zelda titles.
The potential release of Lost Planet 3 on Wii U could mean more amazing collaborations between Nintendo and Capcom. I am genuinely intrigued and excited by Wii U and Nintendo’s big advances in third party support. Although the Lost Planet series just missed our list of most anticipated third-party franchises we’d like to see arrive on the console, it is still a landmark in gaming. I am sure no one ever thought Lost Planet could be coming to Wii U.
Truth or rumour, here’s a slick trailer of Lost Planet 3 from a couple months back. Enjoy.
