Animal mascot platformers were all the rage during the Nintendo 64 era of gaming. Among their ranks was Gex the Gecko, who starred in a number of different games across various Nintendo consoles. Thanks to the folks at Limited Run Games and Crystal Dynamics, three classic Gex games will be returning on Nintendo Switch this summer in GEX Trilogy. Take a peek:

The three games being included are:

  • Gex (1995)
  • Gex: Enter the Gecko (1998)
  • Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (1999)

GEX Trilogy is being powered by Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine, which has been used in numerous classic rereleases of late helping to preserve retro games for future players to experience. The GEX games are platformers, but they’re also known for the Gex’s wisecracking humor and parodying of then-contemporary pop culture. Expect contemporary tweaks like rewind and the ability to save anywhere, as well as native widescreen support.

Will you be reuniting with Gex this summer? Share with us in the comments and on social media!
