Game Freak, the video game studio known for creating the Pokémon video games on Nintendo consoles, has just recently launched a new mobile game titled Pand Land. The studio has released a few other mobile games in the past, including Pocket Card Jockey, a solitaire game where players compete to win races through playing solitaire (which is currently available on Nintendo Swich, as well).
Pand Land is meant to be a sea faring adventure RPG, where players will take a crew around the world on their ship, stopping at islands and exploring dungeons as they travel. In addition, the game can be played as a single player or multiplayer experience, so it is possible to go on your adventure with friends!
The game is being worked on alongside a collaborating studio called Wonder Planet. Yuji Saito, Game Freak’s Director of Development, mentioned in an announcement that the studio are, “working hard to create a game that takes the scale of a console game and makes it easy and simple to play.”
Players that are looking forward to the game might have to wait a little while longer, as it is only currently available in app stores in Japan, with no word as to when it will be launched worldwide or stateside. We will keep you updated as the state of the game’s release changes and as it releases in other countries.
