Although there was some unfortunate drama during this year’s Pokémon TCG World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii when a competitor was disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct, it’s time to put that behind us and look to brighter days ahead. The Pokémon Company International is set to release a new expansion to its beloved collectible trading card game. Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks is coming to retail starting November 8, 2024.

Here’s a bit more about the expansion from The Pokémon Company:
Terawatts of electricity crash down from the sky in a tropical paradise, setting the stage for the supercharged Pikachu ex! With the power of a Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, it lights up the shoreline, revealing a parade of dragon Pokémon led by the towering Alolan Exeggutor ex! Archaludon ex and Latias ex round out the horde, while new ACE SPEC cards and more new Pokémon ex bring surprises of their own. Currents crackle and dragons roar in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks expansion!
There are 250 cards available to collect, including new Tera Pokémon ex and ACE SPEC cards. With an emphasis on Electric Type Pokémon, Surging Sparks should add quite a jolt (a pun!) to any collector or competitor’s deck.
