This past Thursday, at a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Team Asano, a Square Enix studio, announced their newest game, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. Team Asano is also the studio behind the Octopath Traveler series. The game is scheduled to be released on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026, according to the official trailer released during the Direct.
In addition to the release date, the trailer showcases action rpg gameplay, set in an HD-2D style environment. The trailer details some of the 7 different weapon types, including swords, bows, chains and sickles. Weapons can be strengthened with a material called Magicite.

Faie, a fairy that travels alongside Elliot for his adventure, can help in combat with attacks, pick up items, and be controlled to help in puzzle solving and platforming. One unique feature detailed in the trailer was the ability to have another player join in multiplayer and control Faie.
At the very end of the trailer, a demo was revealed to be released and is currently available on the Nintendo eShop.
