Fantasy, cyberpunk, and RPG fans take note: Shadowrun is back on a Nintendo console. Not one, not two, but three Shadowrun games are coming to Nintendo Switch. Shadowrun Trilogy will launch in 2022. You can see it on Switch for the first time in this trailer:
Here’s a bit more about the trio of games:
Cyberpunk meets fantasy in this three-game collection of cult classic RPGs. As a Shadowrunner mercenary, players will explore a dystopian future where magic has reawakened and fantasy creatures have come back to life. Immersive branching narratives, skill-based character growth and gripping turn-based tactical combat await in Shadowrun Trilogy, launching for Nintendo Switch in 2022.
The games included in the trilogy are:
- Shadowrun Returns
- Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut
- Shadowrun: Hong Kong
Shadowrun has a number of different video games that were released over the years, dating all the way back to the first installment (Shadowrun) by Beam Software on SNES in 1993. The trilogy here is all pulled from the later entries in the series from 2013 forward. The Shadowrun video games themselves are based on the tabletop RPG franchise of the same name. There’s no firm launch date just yet beyond that 2022 release window, but we’ll update once we learn more.
