Precursor Games has launched a Kickstarter page for its crowdfunded debut title, Shadow of the Eternals.
Prior to this announcement, crowdfunding for the game was being handled directly through Precursor’s own web site. Fans who may have been wary about donating to the project because of this now have a more reputable avenue through which to back the title.
Precursor has been struggling to raise the funds necessary to continue Shadow of the Eternals’ development; at the time of writing, the company has raised roughly $155,000, which is just over ten percent of its $1.5 million goal, with 36 days remaining in the campaign. Fans who pledge any amount of money to the project are eligible to take part in the Ordinem De Non Visis forums, where they can discuss the game’s development and share ideas directly with the team. And, as per Kickstarter’s conditions, no money will be exchanged if the project fails to meets its goal by the June 19 deadline.
Shadow of the Eternals is being billed as a “spiritual successor” to the GameCube cult classic, Eternal Darkness. Presuror plans to release the title for Wii U and PC as a series of twelve episodes, which will cost roughly $5 each.
