Shockingly, we are less than one month away from the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield on Switch. This generation, The Pokémon Company has kept things a bit quieter than normal, but this morning, they pulled back the curtain regarding new Gigantamax versions of some of the most popular Generation 1 Pokémon!
Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, Meowth and Butterfree will all receive new Gigantamax forms in the game, giving each a slight alteration in appearance. Pikachu looks a bit more like the chubbier version originally seen in Red, Green and Blue, while Meowth gets an elongated look that almost seems reminiscent of Alolan Exeggutor! You can see all five new Gigantamax forms in the trailer below.
Gigantamax Meowth will be offered as a bonus for those that purchase the game before January 15. Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee, however, are received by those that have play data from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! on their Switch.
