It’s the beginning of another month, which means another new batch of digital rewards has been added to Club Nintendo. Just like last month, members have eight games to choose from. The full list of titles is as follows:

  • Mario Bros. for Wii U Virtual Console: 200 Coins
  • Kirby Super Star for Wii U Virtual Console: 200 Coins
  • Super Punch-Out!! for Wii/Wii U Virtual Console: 250 Coins
  • NES Play Action Football for Wii/Wii U Virtual Console: 200 Coins
  • Super Mario Bros. for 3DS Virtual Console: 200 Coins
  • The Legend of Zelda for 3DS Virtual Console: 200 Coins
  • Touch Solitaire for 3DS eShop: 150 Coins
  • Art Style: PiCTOBiTS for 3DS eShop: 200 Coins

Each game will be available on Club Nintendo until October 12. Wii U owners who would like to download either Super Punch-Out!! or NES Play Action Football can only do so from the console’s Wii menu and must own a Classic Controller to play them.

Will you be downloading any of this month’s digital rewards? Let us know in the comments!

So, now even some NES and SNES games aren’t getting proper Wii U VC support? Dammit Nintendo, stop half-half-half-half-assing this.

I’d like to meet the one person who actually gets NES Play Action Football this month.

What a shame on the selection this month, though. I am more than ready to spend my coins on a decent classic title now. And as penduin said, proper Wii U VC support pretty please.

Dissenting voice: I think it’s a great selection of games this month, and am glad to add two games to my collection (Kirby Super Star and Super Punch-Out!!).

I don’t mind the selection per se. I do mind Super Punch Out and NES Play Action Football being Wii-mode only. For a few Club Nintendo coins (with which I am overflowing) I would have grabbed both otherwise. (Hey Toadlord! Nice to almost meet you… :^)

VC games are a perfect fit for the gamepad, and the Wii mode’s refusal to just pretend the gamepad is a classic controller is a deal breaker.
