While Thursday is the day we usually see updates on the Nintendo eShop, we’ve seen a handful of releases timed to coincide with larger events. During today’s Treehouse summit, Nintendo announced that Mega Man 7 is now available on the Virtual Console service in North America. It retails for the regular SNES price of $7.99. The company devoted a significant chunk of today’s event to showcasing the SNES classic, providing some tips and gameplay footage for those with less experience with the series.
Mega Man 7‘s appearance on the service likely came as a bit of a surprise for fans of the franchise. Capcom announced that a Mega Man title would arrive on the service every Thursday throughout the month of August, but the Blue Bomber hadn’t been seen since September began. Considering the popularity of Mega Man 7 among fans of the franchise, it’s certainly nice to see!
