You know what’s crazy? We’re getting an Ace Attorney game called The Great Ace Attorney that takes place a hundred years before the original trilogy and revolves around Ryunosuke Naruhodou, who is Phoenix Wright’s Japanese ancestor. But you know what’s crazier than that? The game will also feature the famous English detective Sherlock Holmes with his assistant, Dr. Watson. Except this time, Watson is an eight-year-old girl named Iris that has pink hair. But don’t worry, she’s still an M.D. somehow!
Even though the protagonist is from Japan, only the beginning of the game will take place in that country. In the opening of the game, Ryunosuke is studying to become a lawyer in Japan, but he later moves to England and runs into Holmes as the story progresses. Holmes is integral to a new gameplay element called Joint Reasoning where you work together in order to uncover the truth. The rest of the game will include the usual investigation and courtroom battles from the original Ace Attorney games.
