Late last year, Nintendo surprised fans with the announcement of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Originally published by Activision, the Ultimate Alliance franchise had been dormant for nearly 10 years. Since the initial announcement, however, few details have been released regarding the title. Well, we now have cover art, more information on playable characters and a release date!
The Marvel Universe portrayed in the comics and films has changed quite drastically since the release of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and the new game’s roster would seem to reflect that. In addition to the previously announced playable characters, Nintendo has officially confirmed Deadpool, Spider-Gwen, Black Panther and Dr. Strange. Of course, characters appearing in the game’s boxart also seem highly likely, so Nightcrawler, Scarlet Witch, Miles Morales and Daredevil should be playable, as well. The title will also offer four player local and online co-op, with the option to drop in or out at any time.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will arrive exclusively on Switch July 19.
