In its own Nintendo Direct-style broadcast dubbed Level-5 Vision, developer Level-5 showed off a whole slate of games that it will be releasing over the next couple of years. Among them was a deeper look into Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. This game not only marks the return of the beloved Hershel Layton, but also his young protégé Luke Triton. While fans were able to get a small glimpse of the game a few weeks back during the last Nintendo Direct showcase, Level-5 showed of even more in this new trailer:
Intriguingly, this new installment sees Layton and Luke venturing off to America in a place called Steam Bison. The events of the story are set a year after the conclusion of the duo’s last adventures, Professor Layton and the Lost Future. Sadly, series “Puzzle Master” Akira Tago passed away a few years ago, but QuizKnock, which hosts a Japanese YouTube channel that specializes in puzzles and riddles, will be stepping in to fill his shoes.
New World of Steam doesn’t have a set release date, but is anticipated to release sometime either in 2023 or 2024. The small snippets of the game that have been shown off are certainly teasing something special. Will you be adding this game to your wishlist? Let us know in the comments and on social media!
