Europe Getting a Version of Nintendo Switch 2 With a Replaceable Battery

Europe will soon be getting a different version of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware according to a piece from Nikkei. The Japanese outlet is reporting that European Union legislation now dictates that consumers must be able to easily replace the battery of electronic devices without the need of professional repair. The right to self-repair, as it is often called, has picked up momentum in various countries around the world, and the result is that Nintendo must comply with a revised Switch 2 where consumers can swap the battery out for themselves.

This is not the case in the United States nor Japan at the moment, but this could change down the road if similar legislation is drafted in either country. For now, Europe alone will be getting this hardware revision. Would you be interested in Nintendo bringing this model of Switch 2 to other regions? Pontificate with us in the comments and online!
