At this weekend’s VGX Awards, Nintendo confirmed Cranky Kong as the fourth playable character in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. While the news was rumored last week as the curmudgeonly Kong featured on the game’s box art, this is our first official confirmation. Apparently, Cranky will be able to use his cane as a pogo stick, similar to Scrooge McDuck in DuckTales. Nintendo also confirmed a February 21 release date for the Wii U title.
At this time, we don’t have any screenshots or videos featuring the older Kong in action, but as usual, stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll do our best to bring you more information as it develops. In the meantime, let us know which Kong you’re excited to play as in the comments below!
