German indie developer Edrox Interactive has announced that it is bringing its horror game Bizerta: Silent Evil to the Wii U eShop. The game is set in a dark and rundown mansion, and the player must uncover what nightmares lie within. The title, previously only intended for Sony platforms, is branching out due to Nintendo’s greater freedom for indie developers on Wii U.
Bizerta is still somewhat of a mystery for now, as the developer has declined to share much about the game’s horror elements or gameplay mechanics. “I wish I could tell you, gamers will have to play the game and judge it themselves. The most common mistakes that most developers do, is that they reveal too much about their games. The most important thing in a horror game is the surprise effect,” said the developer.
While Nintendo platforms have played host to some creepy games like ZombiU and Fatal Frame, the horror genre is one that is largely underrepresented. So, it is nice to know we are getting yet another addition to Nintendo’s horror library. The mysterious nature of this game’s announcement is also rather intriguing. Perhaps we’ll learn more about the game as release comes closer, perhaps not. The release date of Bizerta is still to be determined.
