No footage was shown off of the upcoming port, but what is known is that the Switch version of Apex Legends will be part of the new cross-play initiative that was also announced today. Apex Legends will allow cross-platform play between Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC users come the fall. Respawn Entertainment’s game director Chad Grenier said the following:
“So that means you’ll be able to squad up no matter where you and your friends prefer to play – Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or on the PC via Origin and Steam. We’re throwing out a lifeline and healing the divide between the platforms.”
Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game. It’s hero arena shooter not unlike Overwatch or Paladins, so fans of either of those titles will want to keep an eye on Apex Legends. What do you think of this announcement? Tell us in the comments and on social media!
