EA has been relatively quiet as a publisher during the Switch era of Nintendo’s home console line. There have been blips on the radar here and there, like Unravel Two and the annual FIFA releases. Beyond that, there hasn’t been much for fans to look forward to from the industry powerhouse—until now.
Speaking to investors, EA chief executive officer Andrew Wilson had a lot to say about live service games and software launches for the remainder of 2020. What will be of interest to Nintendo fans is what he said about releasing more games for Switch:
Get ready to perform high-octane stunts and tear up the road when Burnout Paradise Remastered races onto #NintendoSwitch on June 19th!

“And we’re also planning to deliver for more Nintendo fans ith [sic] multiple EA games set to launch on Nintendo Switch this year.”
What could those games be? Well, it’s already known that Burnout Paradise Remastered is coming to the console on June 19. What else could be headed to the platform is up for debate. Some sources believe that Apex Legends, EA’s popular arena shooter, could be ready to join Activision’s Overwatch on the system. There’s also word of another, possibly more tantalizing game… or games. The rumored HD remasters of the Mass Effect trilogy (which itself hasn’t been confirmed or announced yet) are potentially coming to Switch, according to rumors. To be more specific, it’s being speculated that the Mass Effect trilogy is a thing, but that it will take longer to come to Switch than other systems.
All of this is scuttlebutt, so make of it what you will. It’s nonetheless pleasing to see EA giving Nintendo and its fans the time of day again. We’ll keep you all posted on future announcements as they happen!
