Still playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf? Need an easier way to keep track of its holidays? We’ve got you covered. At the beginning of every month, we’ll be posting a handy list of all the special events going on in the game, so you’ll never miss a chance to snag some rare items. What events will be going on this month?

December 13 – Fishing Tourney

December’s festivities begin in earnest with the final Fishing Tourney of the year. Like last month’s contest, you’ll be competing with your neighbors to land the biggest fish. Take your catch over to the event plaza to have it evaluated by Chip, the hungry event coordinator, who will give you a piece of fish-themed furniture if you can exceed a certain point total. Maintain the lead by the end of the day and you’ll also be awarded a gold fishing trophy!

December 21 – Winter Solstice

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year in Animal Crossing: New Leaf— so long, in fact, that the sun never even rises! Find Isabelle at your town’s event plaza and receive a special blue glow wand to help you see through the darkness.

December 24 – Toy Day

The biggest holiday in December, Toy Day is the one night of the year that Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer, comes to town! Complete a Santa outfit and help the overworked reindeer deliver presents to all your townsfolk. You’ll have your work cut out for you, though– Jingle forgets to give you a list to go along with the presents, so you’ll need to pay close attention to the hints your neighbors drop throughout the month to know which items they really want! Deliver all of the presents before the end of the night to receive a special festive item from Jingle.

December 31 – New Year Countdown

Head over to your town’s event plaza to celebrate the start of a new year with all your virtual neighbors! Get a nice glass of sparkling cider from Isabelle, purchase noisemakers from Redd, and count down the hours to midnight with the townsfolk. And when the clock strikes 12, stick around to enjoy a beautiful fireworks show!
