Are you familiar with the Pokémon Gholdengo? Introduced in the ninth generation of the series, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Gholdengo bears the distinction of being the thousandth Pokémon in the Pokédex. Designation #1000 is an all-gold Pokémon who is comprised of, fittingly, 1,000 Ghimmigoul Coins. Now, word has come that the unique creature is being commemorated by The Pokémon Company International in grandiose fashion: a 24 Karat statue of the character is being produced as part of a special collaboration with Japanese jeweler SGC and the upcoming Great Golden Exhibition.
Gholdengo is 2.36 inches/six centimeters tall and comes with a whopping $9,000 price tag. This luxurious curiosity won’t be alone, however, as two life-saved statues of both Gholdengo and, naturally, Pikachu, will be joining along. You can see them below:
The two giant statues are not solid gold, but instead gold leaf (200 sheets!), and they are roughly 47 inches/120 centimeters and 20 inches 50 centimeters, respectively. They’ll be on display in Japan from September 30 to October 5, 2026 in the Yokohama Takashimaya building. The Great Golden Exhibition is hosted each year by SGC and features hundreds of premium gold art pieces, including pure gold tableware, pop-culture and sports statues, and more.
