Poncho
It’s not the first time a game plays around with idea of jumping between layers of depth, but this one also has a poncho-wearing robot as its main character. I don’t know about you, but I’m sold.
SteamWorld Heist
Speaking of robots and ponchos, SteamWorld Heist is getting closer to its release date. A followup to SteamWorld Dig, this tactical strategy game is set to be released this fall for 3DS first and then Wii U some time after that. If your 3DS has been out of S.T.E.A.M. lately, this one will provide what you need.
Zombie Vikings
With a name like Zoink!, the studio is destined to make some wacky games during its lifetime. If you’re up for more Ren and Stimpy-like shenanigans from the makers of the hilarious Stick it to the Man!, Zombie Vikings should definitely do the trick.
Runbow
Party games provide very unique social experiences, like losing a friend over a game of Mario Party. Runbow is set to crank things up to 11 (or eight, perhaps) with its eight-player platforming madness and constant platforms changes. Friends, beware.
Gunman Clive HD Collection
While some Mega Man-inspired games are having a hard time coming out, Gunman Clive already had an excellent sequel and is now ready to make an HD jump. Personally, I cannot wait to play through both games again on a big screen.
I’m excited for a number of these. Been following Fast Racing Neo’s development since before the launch of Wii U so it will hopefully deliver on the F-Zero Front. It certainly looks the part. The publisher Shin’en has worked almost exclusively with Nitendo platforms. Maybe depending on how this game turns out they could have a go with the iconic franchise itself?
Others I’m looking forward to are: Shovel Knight DLC, Gunman Clive, and the hopefully soon to be released Octodad
Great list. Will definitely be picking up a few of these. Thanks for mentioning the mindbenders of innovation and intensity, Treasure. They deserve any and all the praise they get.
I’m not sure how this didn’t dawn on me before, but I just realized that Fast Racing Neo is F-Zero GX meets Ikaruga.
…as if I didn’t want the game enough already. :^)
I wonder what other GameCube titles could be combined to great effect? Metroid Prime and Mario Strikers? Oh, ouch… too soon.
