In honor of Bayonetta’s triumphant return on Wii U this week, it felt right to rank Platinum Games’ marquee female hero and all the others to have graced a Nintendo console over the years amongst one another. If any developer has embraced diversity more than Nintendo over the years, I’d be shocked to hear it, but between the House of Mario and every other game maker to have called the company’s consoles home, there are quite a few respectable ladies to pick from. Get ready for the ten best female characters on a Nintendo system!
Samus is an easy favorite, but glad to see Jade (from Beyond Good and Evil) represented as well. She is by far one of my favorite female protagonists and not one that gets a lot of attention.

Princess Peach should be much higher on that list, still a good list though.
