During the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, president Iwata announced that Nintendo and its one-time rival Sega had partnered up to deliver three exclusive Sonic games for Wii U and 3DS. While only two of the games were announced during the actual presentation, the more interesting of the pair was the enigmatic Sonic Lost World, a new 3D adventure starring the iconic hedgehog. Details on the game are still sparse, but today Sega has released the first trailer for Sonic Lost World, giving us a better idea of what we can expect from the title.
The most striking thing about the trailer is how much of a resemblance Lost World bears to Super Mario Galaxy, particularly in the way the environments wrap around at inconceivable angles, allowing Sonic to run along vertical walls and perform gravity-defying jumps. The trailer also highlights the six new characters that Sega had teased the other day, who will serve as the game’s antagonists. Take a look for yourself below!
What do you think of the debut trailer? Has it piqued your interest in the game? Let us know in the comments!
