Following the recent “unexpected” announcement that the Wii U tablet controller now has full blown analogue sticks (we don’t believe this was an accidental leak at all; this has the stench of Janet Jackson Superbowl boob controversy all over it!) we decided to ask you this week, what kind of control system do you like best? Are you an analogue stick man? Or a retro d-pad kinda gal? Or are you into that weird tantric stuff involving touch screens and motion controls? (I do apologise for the lurid allusions here, I’m sleep deprived and drugged on cough medication.)
Regardless of however you like to make Mario dash, let us know your favourite control scheme by voting in this week’s poll! And be sure to let us know what you think of the redesigned Wii U tablet in the comments’ section below!

Wii U Must not Deny Me My Fav Control Scheme
I prefer the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk for most games. I especially like using the pointer for FPS’s like Elebits, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Conduit 2, GoldenEye, and Red Steel 2. I also prefer using the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk for 3rd person games such as Battalion Wars 2, Scarface, Mushroom Men, Deadly Creatures, Monster Hunter Tri, and Xenoblade Chronicles. The only games that I don’t use this set up for, where it still allows me to, is Smash Bros Brawl and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. For these games, I use a wireless Gamecube controller (With Rumble!).
I sincerely hope that we will still be able to use the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk as an option to play Wii U games such as Killer Freaks from Outer Space, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Ghost Recon: Online, and even Assassin’s Creed 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, Batman: Arkham City, and Darksiders II. I must clarify that I want the option to play the main single player campaign mode of these games using the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk, not only as additional players for the multiplayer modes.
Hyawatta: I would guess that though the fancy tablet controller will be the main focus, plenty of games (first-person, especially) will still support Wiimote+nunchuk. The machine is still Wii-compatible, so even if the Wiimote becomes a sort of second-class citizen (as the GameCube pad is on Wii) there should still be plenty of support for it where it’s appropriate.
As for 3rd-person games… Now that you mention it I would love to play Assassin’s Creed 3 with a Wiimote+nunchuk. …As long as they fix the awful, awful camera. (Ubisoft: copy Zelda’s or Metal Gear’s camera system. Please!)
Please let Motion controls Die! LOL Great for games like Dance Dance and Samba De Amigo. Please don’t let them be in the next Zelda game **Hope**
