It’s been a long time coming but Xenoblade Chronicles will release in North America on Friday, 6 April. (That’s this Friday in case any of you are still thinking we’re in March.) It may have taken it’s time, with the initially unsuccessful Operation Rainfall campaign (we talked to them back in July!) the tantalisingly cruel European release the following month (we really quite liked it!) and then the near-miraculous turnaround by Nintendo as we heard that Xenoblade and The Last Story would be heading to North American gamers. (As you may not be surprised to hear, we did talk about this as well.)
But now the launch approaches, what are your feelings dear reader? Have you long been a champion of the Rainfall cause? Are you doing an ever-so-slightly-embarrassing jumpy-up-and-down dance on the spot as if you needed the toilet in anticipation? Or do you not get all the excitement surrounding Xenoblade? If you’re still debating whether or not to pick up this sprawling adventure on Wii, our resident Xeno-expert Katharine Byrne will be returning to the game in an editorial this week, looking back on her feelings about the game since her European review last year.
Whether you’re feeling euphoria, anticipation or apathy, let us know by voting in this week’s poll and get the discussion going in the comments’ section. Our eager beaver staff who have already played the game will be sure to let you know just much they loved it.

Cant wait for xenoblade
Adam hearthcast please ;)
Opps the guy from the heartcast is evan not adam, anyway, i miss this podcast.
I’m sure Evan will be flattered with the confusion ;)
Nintendo Heartcast will be dropping its latest episode on Wednesday morning and Xenoblade is sure to come up!
We have a new Heartcast coming this week, but Xenoblade won’t be out yet. I promise it will get lots of discussion with the next episode. I’ll be picking up the game Friday and playing as much as possible.
In the meanwhile, look for lots of Kid Icarus Uprising chatter this week.
FINE! I’ll pick it up. Maybe then I’ll get some peace and…NOT LAST STORY TOO!
Hmm… I already own the import, and yet am still excited to pick up my preorder on Friday. There goes my “cheap and thrifty gamer” status.
That said, GameStop (Canada) is offering $20 trade credit per qualifying game when buying Xenoblade right now. The list of qualifying games is kind of slim (anything with a $8+ base trade value) but it still offers a good way to get Xenoblade for a discount if you are a thrifty shopper. Start checking local stores and listings for cheap DS titles that qualify now!
I’m thoroughly undecided on Xenoblade. But I’ll be all over Last Story like a fly on a bright light (although hopefully with less electrocutive death).
Pre-ordered my copy months ago. :)
For the record, Australia is PAL region but not part of Europe. We also got the game back in September.
Took me 110hours to finish it, AND I missed a lot of content.
Our apologies regarding the PAL region! We don’t get many Australian readers so it’s easy to forget about you guys down there. If you fancy catching more slip ups around the site (or are keen to write about Xenoblade or anything else) then you should consider applying to be a member of our staff team :)

There should be a “I really want that game but I don’t have a Wii!” option.
