Wii U’s Alleged Release Date Revealed in Leak
And that date is Sunday November 18th, 2012. WiiUDaily.com and other websites were abuzz with the revelation, which originated in a Tokyo-based retailer’s leaked email correspondence. The date does make sense considering its significance in Nintendo’s North American launch history–GameCube launched on the day in 2001, and Wii wasn’t far off with a start on November 19th, 2006.
Despite the investigatory efforts of Kotaku, the name of the Japanese retailer in question seems destined to stay under wraps.

Wii U to Waive Power for Originality?
More Wii U news for you, as Games Industry International today shared the impressions of anonymous developers on Nintendo’s next console. Despite previous boasting of Wii U’s next-gen capabilities, some of the devs confide that it is less graphically capable than even current competitors in the home console market.
What does this mean? Perhaps, that fans of Nintendo’s philosophy regarding the current Wii–“the time when horsepower alone made an importance difference is over”–will be pleased again. Not for lack of horsepower, of course, but for the quality and originality of alternate attractions. We know what the console’s main shtick is (the tablet!); hopefully E3 2012 will impress us with its applications.
