Here’s what’s going on in the world of Nintendo for today… not much really going on today but two very interesting bits of information.
Amazon Launches Retro Gaming Store
Good news for those gaming fans who have an affinity for the classics, Amazon has launched an entire section dedicated to retro games. Games from pretty much any type of retro console or handheld, whether it be from the NES or Sega Genesis, are available. The variety of games is vast and the costs range from $90-100 for a newer game (as in untouched/collector’s edition) to $5-15 for the used games.
And in case you’re wondering, yes I spotted Earthbound on there. Hope you have $160 on hand if you want a used one. For those who are curious, here’s a link to the Retro Gaming section in Amazon.
Nintendo Reveals PAX East Plans
For those of you in the New England area (or general northeast) who want something to do this weekend, PAX East is the place to go. Nintendo and many other companies will be taking part. In this edition of PAX East, they will have a variety of video games available for demos. Titles include already available games such as Pushmo, Mario Kart 7, and Kid Icarus: Uprising. However, there will also some games that haven’t been released yet, such as Mario Tennis Open and Spirit World: The Cursed Memoir. In addition, there’ll be an AR Card Scavenger hunt for cards used in Kid Icarus: Uprising.
So if anybody is in the area and is interested in possibly going to PAX East, there are still passes available for Friday and Sunday. Unfortunately, Saturday is all sold out. Despite being only a couple hours away, it’s unlikely that I’d be there.
I would’ve added at least 1 more story but I was stuck working 4-8 so I had to hurry up. Sorry folks :(
