Today’s Nintendo Direct was filled with boxing, explosions, and kart racing. In the midst of such chaos, it’s often easy to overlook the smaller things. Like maybe a quirky eShop title. The main characters of Level-5’s Weapon Shop de Omasse know all about the little things. After all, they’re the unsung heroes building weapons that will help save the world… provided someone else goes and does the actual fighting.

In the title, players will take the role of an apprentice working in an RPG weapons shop, where various heroes will visit and hire you. If the hero’s weapons aren’t strong enough, the result for the world could be catastrophic. If it sounds like a comedic premise, it’s supposed to be. The game was the brainchild of comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai, as the final part of the Guild series of games. The game certainly promises to be a lighthearted experience.

For those who haven’t tried the other titles in the series, Nintendo and Level-5 are running a discount promotion in honor of the releases of Weapon Shop de Omasse and Inazuma Eleven. From today until February 23, all previous Guild titles are available in the US and Europe for $2.99. The titles include:

  • Aero Porter
  • Crimson Shroud
  • Liberation Maiden
  • The Starship Damrey
  • Bugs vs. Tanks
  • Attack of the Friday Monsters!

Weapon Shop de Omasse releases on the Nintendo eShop on February 20 for $7.99. Are you planning on checking it out, or downloading some of the other Guild titles? Let us know what you think of the title in the comments below!
