As if the allure of pre-ordering the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder wasn’t strong enough just owing to the strength of what has been previewed thus far, the folks at Walmart have had a genuine “hold my beer” moment and upped the ante. Revealed today on the company’s X page, Walmart will be offering exclusive Mario Wonder Trading Card Packs to those who reserve a copy of the game with the retailer. Here’s the announcement:

Sadly, based on some of the replies beneath this post, it appears the only way to get these cards is by pre-ordering the game, meaning it will be very difficult to get all of them without having to reserve at least two copies. The advert points out that there are 15 cards to collect, four holofoil cards, and the possibility to snag one of only 1,000 Elephant Mario cards. Talk about frustrating, but perhaps joining together with friends and family, fans will be able to assemble a complete set without having to spend too much money.
