Ironically, I was just listening to a bunch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe music at work after my students completed a Mario Kart-themed “fun run” fundraiser. It seems as we approach the launch of Mario Kart World, Nintendo wants to keep the series at the forefront of our minds, as the latest Nintendo Music soundtrack to come to the service is the 2011 Nintendo 3DS title Mario Kart 7. Mario Kart 7 doesn’t quite get enough respect for the major changes it brought to the series. Underwater and gliding were all introduced in this installment, and have since gone on to become major, lasting mechanics in every new entry. If you’d like to listen to all of this wonderful music, boot up the Nintendo Music app on your Android or iOS device of choice. Users must have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to access the tracks. The app was recently updated with more extended-playback tracks, so definitely give it a look if it’s been a bit since you’ve booted up Nintendo Music.
