Tetris 99 has reached its milestone fiftieth Maximus Cup—or at least, it will come December 4 when the event kicks off. For this silver anniversary, Nintendo has opted for a Kirby Air Riders theme, presumably in honor of the game’s recent launch on Nintendo Switch 2. You can check out the theme in the trailer, below:
The fun will run until December 8, 2025 at 10:59 PM PST, at which point Maximus Cup 50 will have officially concluded. If you’d like a chance to unlock the Kirby Air Riders skin permanently, you’ll need to do a couple things. First, have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which will then allow you to download Tetris 99 at no additional cost. Second, log into the game’s multiplayer mode and earn 100 event points. Once you have, the theme is yours to use from that point forward.
