A 70th anniversary is typically marked with a gift of platinum. If you’re looking to honor Taito for hitting the big 7-0 in 2023, then you might have to shell out some big bucks to keep your gift in line with tradition. Time certainly seems to fly when you’re busy making classics like Space Invaders and Bubble Bobble, but it’s still rather astounding to think Taito has been around for so long. The company is marking the anniversary on its Twitter page as well as a special website.

The official date of the anniversary celebration is August 23, 2023, with the company having been founded seven decades prior in 1953. Taito will be celebrating via a number of promotions in Japan, but globally it’s unclear what, if any, festivities will be taking place.
