In an interview with Destructoid, renowned game developer Ken Levine dropped some ugly news on Wii U fans today. BioShock Infinite won’t be making it to the console. What could Infinite, easily one of 2013’s most anticipated games, have done with the GamePad? We’ll never know, and I feel like the guy pictured above. Don’t worry. Gun’s empty.
The first two games in the series didn’t appear on Wii either, of course, but there were obvious explanations for that: the absence of a conventional controller, HD graphics, and encouraging sales records for mature games. Wii U addresses those first two issues. We’ll have to see about the third.
Either way, it seems that for now Mr. Levine’s interest in Wii U is limited to the personal: “I bought one and I like it. I play games on it! But in terms of development, nothing is brewing right now.”
Here’s hoping Wii U can get in on 2015’s BioShock Infinite Squared…
