Well, that was quite the surprise. After three decades one would typically be safe to assume that a game released on Famicom in Japan wasn’t likely to ever be localized outside of the region. Especially a game that was already remade for Nintendo DS, no less. Yet here we are with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light headed to the West for the very first time on December 04, 2020.
Here’s Nintendo’s description of what to expect from the game:
Throughout Marth’s perilous journey, players can shape their armies to execute a range of strategies by carefully selecting from dozens of characters with unique attributes that can turn the tide of every battlefield skirmish. Will Marth be able to acquire the sacred Falchion sword on his epic expedition to restore peace to the Kingdom of Archanea? Lead a band of loyal followers on a continent-spanning quest for glory and victory, and reclaim the throne from the Shadow Dragon Medeus!
While Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will be available in the eShop for $5.99, there will also be a special Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition available at select retailers.
