Nintendo starts free Donkey Kong promotion for select eShop titles

Nintendo is keen to get more people interested in downloading titles on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, and it is following up the Club Nintendo promotion for New Super Mario Bros. 2 with yet another special offer. From now until January 6, 2013, players who download and register select titles from the eShop will receive a downloadable code for Donkey Kong: Original Edition. The game is a special version which shall apparently include content never seen outside of Japan. Exciting! However, Nintendo indicates that it may take 3-4 weeks to email you the download code. What’s up with that?

The eligible games that will net you the free Donkey Kong when downloaded are Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Style Savvy: Trendsetters, Crosswords Plus, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, and Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.

Little Inferno will be a Wii U launch title

After some doubt about dates, Tomorrow Corporation has confirmed that its small and fiery new game Little Inferno will be downloadable for Wii U on release day aka November 18 in North America. The game is a collaboration between developers of World of Goo and Henry Hatsworth. While much of Little Inferno still remains a mystery right now, it looks like it’s shaping up to be quite the interesting title. Hooray for launch day support of Wii U eShop!
