Mario levels up on 3DS
Shortly ago, Nintendo of Japan revealed the very first details on the promised DLC for New Super Mario Bros. 2. Three Coin Rush packs are on their way but you must have SpotPass enabled. For Japan, each pack will cost 200 yen and will arrive October 2nd, late October and late November, respectively.
Look for details on the American release, very soon.

A rare second chance
Two ex-Rareware employees, composer Grant Kirkhope and artist Steven Hurst, have begun a campaign to create a spiritual successor to the 2000 Nintendo 64 classic, Banjo-Tooie. The last new entry in the series was Microsoft’s 2008 Nuts & Bolts which pleased some fans while enraging others over the game’s emphasis on vehicles over platforming.
The new project will be a new IP with the flair of the old Banjo games, containing “that same kind of humour, silly characters, fun game play, great tunes” and more. Please support the team by following them here.
Hopefully this game comes to fruition and lands on Wii U.

These NSMB2 levels look like a lot of fun, but I’m only interested if I can play them “for real”, not in super-time-constrained, no-exploration-allowed, one-cheap-death-ruins-everything mode. (I guess I’m not a fan of coin rush :^)
Bah. I played some coin rush last night and had quite a bit of fun, now that I’m better at playing it. So, nevermind. I want these levels even if I can’t explore them at my leisure. I’ll still be a little bit grumpy about it though. :^)
