Monolith Soft working on 3DS game
Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft is seeking new staff for an as-of-yet unannounced 3DS project. After opening up a recruitment page on their website, sought after positions include effect designers, motion designers and 3DCG designers.
According to Andriasang, the 3DCG designers will work on character modeling and 3D map modeling, while the effect designers will work on effects for map and battle scenes. The motion designers will work on motion for monsters and characters.
The game will be developed out of its newly formed Kyoto studio. Previously Monolith Soft have recruited for an upcoming Wii U project, which will be developed out of their Tokyo studio.

escapeVektor coming to 3DS
Australian games developer Nnooo has revealed that WiiWare title escapeVektor will be coming to 3DS in late 2012.
Previewed at the Game Developer’s Conference, escapeVektor is a retro styled arcade game where the player controls Vektor, an entity trapped inside the console’s CPU. Players must help Vektor escape the CPU and overcome several obstacles in his path, but the closer Vektor gets to reaching his goal, the harder his escape becomes.
Guide the arrow-like Vektor through the maze of the CPU.
“We were delighted by the reception the WiiWare version of the game received,” said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We originally planned to have four Chapters but have now decided to roll them all into one game and bring it out on these new consoles to reach a wider audience.”
This new version will feature new enemies and obstacles with loads of extra levels and online leaderboards. We really liked Chapter 1 of escapeVektor, so we can’t wait for a full version of the game later this year.

Are you pre-ordering Xenoblade Chronicles? Want an exclusive art book? GameStop have just the right pre-order bonus for you then. According to Nintendo Everything, it doesn’t look like the same offer applies to pre-orders via Nintendo, so make your pre-order choice wisely!
Europeans (myself included) are now green with envy.

Another game developed by monolith? I’M IN!
I hope the team continues this trend on the Wii U! The N64, Gamecube, and Wii showed us that you can’t always rely on third party developers for all of their latest and greatest on a Nintendo home console.
Be Prepared
I’ve got both Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story pre-ordered. I just need to set myself up so that I have time to play them by the time they are released. Maybe I’ll build up some hours to take off from work.
You’ll probably need to take off about two weeks for Xenoblade Chronicles! Easily 150 hours of content there… if not more!
