Nightly News Roundup

Here’s the nightly news….or early morning news roundup from the past night’s events in all things Nintendo…

Nintendo Striking Up Wii U Video Distribution Deals?

That seems to be the rumor, according to Adweek and reported by Slash Gear. In other words, Nintendo is serious about its internet presence. They want to bring in video streaming and with the combination of that and the touch screen controls of the Wii U, it could be rather beneficial. It could potentially also create an ability to play a game while watching a movie with the tablet. Not sure 100% how that works, but hey, it sounds interesting.

Hulu Plus Now on Nintendo Wii

Good news for those with a Hulu Plus account — now you can stream it on your Nintendo Wii. NIntendo has been trying to work its way into being more relevant by adding on more than just gaming to their devices, which their competitors love to do. This is a step in the right direction. Plus, for those with a Wii and want to download the app without an account, there’s a 2-week free trial available for you to try.

Fire Emblem: Awakening to get a European Release

For those of you Europeans with a 3DS, it seems as if the latest Fire Emblem installment will make its way to your shores. No word yet on the official release date for Europe however. The game, which is being released in Japan on April 19th, is not yet confirmed for any North American release. There’s something about RPG games and North America that seems to bring out the gun-shyness in Nintendo.
