When Resident Evil was first optioned as a Hollywood film, it came as little surprise to most gamers. After all, the franchise had already borrowed elements from some of the best horror films ever made. Since then, the movie franchise has spawned four sequels, with a sixth film on the way in the near future. While that film is being touted as the last in the series, the Resident Evil franchise will shamble on as a new television series from production house Constantin Film.
Further details about the series remain minimal at this time. Considering the popularity of a certain other zombie-related television series, the announcement isn’t all that surprising. With zombies having already carved out a nice niche on TV, it would seem that the timing is better than ever. The biggest question seems to be whether or not the series will pick up from the last film, or if things will be rebooted, and feature a more faithful take on the video game source material.

I still remember my initial reaction when I caught a piece of the movie. “Hey… HE’s moving and shooting at the same time!”
Since then, RE4 and Revelations happened, which let me know the series could actually be fun to play. Turns out, moving and shooting separately is good as long as you can see what the hell you’re doing. :^)
