The new Pokémon remakes have received a further boost to expectations after The Pokémon Company unveiled plans for new Mega Evolutions and a new ability. Added to the list of monsters able to take more powerful mega forms are long-time stalwarts Beedrill and Pidgeot, as well as third generation legendary dragons Latios and Latias.
When Latios or Latias are Mega-Evolved, they can make use of the new ability, Soar. Using Soar will take the player to certain “mirage” spots, where they can catch legendary Pokémon from other games in the series, including Ho-Oh, Lugia, Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, and Zekrom.
The last newly announced addition to the games is the PokéNav Plus. This performs similar functions to the PokéNav from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald but adds some which appeared in X and Y as well: the Player Search System (PSS), Pokémon-Amie, and Super Training.
The demo for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be available to those with a Pokémon Trainer Club account, provided they subscribe to the newsletter and join up by October 19.
