Buckle in folks, R-Type Final 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch in the spring of the 2021. The game is being spearheaded by Granzella, a studio comprised of Irem expatriates. Irem created the original R-Type but after some troubles in the 2010s shifted its focus on pachinko software. Granzella crowdfunded R-Type Final 2, promising “classic side-scrolling shooter action meets modernized visuals and gameplay.”

Note that anyone who’s interested can still offer crowdfunding support to Granzella at this link. Granzella states that due to being so close to release that this round of funding “certain reward items that would affect the game’s content will not be available.” Are you down for R-Type Final 2?
