Paper Mario: The Origami King has been on the market a couple of weeks now, but the game has already been found to have a crushing bug. The error in question manifests in the area where you visit four spas in the Shangri-Spa area and are seeking to gain access to a secret fifth spa. When you speak to the NPC guarding the entrance they ask to see the membership card needed to enter. When this happens, the card is removed from Mario’s inventory, meaning if you exit the area, you can no longer gain access. There’s no way of getting the card back or resetting the quest, meaning players are effectively stuck at this point in the game.

Thankfully, Nintendo is aware of the issue and will be putting out a patch soon according to Polygon. A representative from Nintendo said the following:

“We are aware of reports about issues affecting some players of Paper Mario: The Origami King. We are working to resolve these issues and plan to address them in a software update. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

When the update drops, we will in turn update this story! Until then, be diligent and make sure to not stray from the spa once you gain access.
