Time to gear up, troops. Konami has revealed via yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase that Contra: Operation Galuga will dustoff come March 12, 2024. Presumably at zero hour, but check your locality for official time of deployment. Here’s a look at the latest trailer:
As a reminder, Contra: Operation Galuga is a reimagining of the original Contra on NES featuring “modern graphics, new features and explosive co-op combat.” What’s more, there’s even a free demo that fans can download from the Nintendo Switch eShop right now—just click this link to get it for yourself.
Although the previous entry in the series, Contra: Rogue Corps, was FUBAR at the time of release, WayForward was the studio behind the excellent Contra 4 on Nintendo DS, so fingers are crossed that this will finally set things right once more for Bill, Lance, and friends.
