Nintendo of Europe has decided to take a step in what could be considered by some as a ridiculous direction concerning mature content on the Wii U eShop.
After a few emails were sent to Nintendo Life saying that ZombiU and Assassin’s Creed 3 couldn’t be downloaded, they went to work to find out the problem. What they uncovered was a policy about mature content that Europe’s branch of Nintendo seems to be following.
The policy is that games such as ZombiU and Assassin’s Creed 3 are only downloadable from the eShop between the hours of 11pm-3am. In other words, users can only purchase these M-rated titles for 4 hours a day. This was done as a safety precaution for youngsters who wouldn’t think twice about downloading such games. Either they’d have to wait until 11pm, or get it in person from a store.
This policy is only applicable in Europe, so those under the America’s branch can rest easy.

Oh Nintendo, why must you do these things? I can’t see it being a problem for me since I tend to buy boxed copies of things, but it’s very irritating for everyone else.
Wow man this reminds me of Nintndo of old, I hope there is a logical reason for them doing this, other wise here we go again.
This is all because of a law in Germany and since Nintendo of Europe is based in Germany, they are keeping to the guidlines of the law throughout Europe. The German law states that all mature content must be viewable at “night” only.
