With the North American debut of the super successful Yo-Kai Watch franchise ever closer, we are learning more and more about the much anticipated game. The most recent thing to come to light is that the localization team at Level-5 is doing its best to keep the pun-focused nature of the game’s myriad monsters. Some folks out there have gotten their hands on recent English language builds of the game and have discovered some great names, including:
- Buhu
- Cadin
- Coughkoff
- Dimmy
- Dismarelda
- Droplette
- Dulluma
- Jibanyan
- Leadoni
- Mochismo
- Negatibuzz
- Pandle
- Peckpocket
- Roughraff
- Slimamander
- Suspicioni
- Tattletell
- Tengloom
To help put that all into perspective, be sure to watch Polygon’s video to see how the names tie into the monsters’ designs and descriptions.
There might not be as many Yo-Kai as Pokémon (yet), but it will still be interesting to see how creative the localization team was once we get the full game in North America on November 6 for 3DS. Be sure to keep checking back, because as big as Nintendo and Level-5 will want this game to be, you can bet there will be plenty of news to come.
