Mythical Pokémon Hoopa Being Distributed at McDonald’s

Pokémaniacs in North America will soon have a chance to snag one of the rarest creatures in the series, Hoopa, thanks to a special distribution event that begins next month on November 27.

Unlike previous Pokémon distribution events, which typically occur through GameStop stores, players will need to connect to the Nintendo Zone at participating McDonald’s restaurants with a copy of any sixth generation Pokémon title (Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire) to receive Hoopa. The Mythical Pokémon comes at level 50 and is initially in its Confined form; when it is brought into either Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, however, players will be able to obtain the Prison Bottle item from a Poké Mart clerk, which can transform Hoopa into its Unbound form and unlock its true potential.

The Hoopa distribution event runs until December 23. McDonald’s will also be offering Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire figurines in its Happy Meals, along with one of 12 Pokémon TCG cards, so those of us without shame can order a Happy Meal as we download Hoopa.
