While the Monster Hunter series is one of Capcom’s marquee franchises, its spinoff, Monster Hunter Stories, has its own devoted following. The last entry was Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (which we adored) back in 2021. Thankfully, the wait for another installment won’t be too much longer, as it was announced during the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase that Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Here’s a first look:

Embark on a new adventure as a Rider living in harmony with monsters in the third installment of the turn-based RPG series set in the world of Monster Hunter! Amidst an environmental calamity, a monster hatches bearing a symbol of misfortune that drives two neighboring kingdoms to war. The heirs of these two kingdoms venture into forbidden ground in search of the truth.
Alas, there’s no release date for the game, just a dreaded, nebulous release window of 2026. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later next year, but regardless, once we know for sure, we’ll share the news with all of you.
